I Didn’t Text You, Tequila Did
Welcome to the first of my dupe series where I’ll try my hand at recreating cool cocktails from fun restaurants. We’re starting off with I Didn’t Text You, Tequila Did from Citrus & Salt in Boston! I hope this series will help you bring the restaurant experience home with you. Even when you may not have all the ingredients on hand- it never hurts to try!
The menu calls for the following “Altos Plata tequila, passionfruit, dragon-fruit, Iime, dragon salt.” In my opinion, dragon fruit doesn’t really taste like anything so I didn’t feel the need to include it in the body of the drink. Without it, I think the drink tastes the same as what I remember!
If I had to wager a guess, I’d say that Dragon Salt is a combination of dragon fruit powder and salt. I didn’t have the patience to go through that process so I opted for the Pink Himalayan Salt I had in my pantry.
At home, you can easily make substitutions like adding a sweetener to balance the tart lime juice or using Passion Fruit Liqueur. I didn’t have any liqueurs on hand and I wanted the drink to be low in sugar. Sugar or not, after a few of these, Tequila WILL text him. Best of luck!
