Snow Day In Tamworth
Today I got to spend a beautiful snowy day at Tamworth Distillery doing cocktail demos after their second annual snowshoe cocktail relay race! On top of a great time, I got to use one of my all-time favorite spirits, Tamworth’s Chocorua Rye Whiskey. Normally I would just have it on the rocks but it was a great experience coming up with a few cocktails to do this whiskey justice.
BlackBerry Spritz
Ingredients
1.5 oz Blackberry Puree
3 Mint Leaves
1 oz Lime Juice
2 oz Chocorua Rye
3 oz Soda Water or Champagne
Method
In a shaker combine all ingredients except for bubbles and top with ice. Shake for 15 seconds and strain into a collins glass over fresh ice. Top with your choice of bubbles and garnish with fresh mint.
Figaro
Ingredients
2.5 oz Coffee Fig Liqueur
1.5 oz Chocorua Rye
1 oz Lemon Juice
1 oz fresh orange juice
Method
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir for about 30 seconds and strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange peel.
Maple Bacon Old Fashioned
Ingredients
2 oz Chocorua Rye
.5 oz Maple Syrup or Liqueur
2 Dashes of Bacon Bitters
Method
In a mixing glass, combine Chocorua Rye and maple syrup. Stir for 30 seconds or until chilled. Pour into a glass over a large ice cube and express orange peel. Top with bacon bitters and enjoy!
