Virginia’s Garden

Gin

Virginia’s Garden is one of the first cocktails that I made for my page back in April 2020 in honor of my wonderful friend Emily! This drink is a take on a gin cucumber basil smash that is an excellent spring gin drink. The twist comes from using oolong tea syrup (or regular oolong tea if you’re looking for a low-calorie drink) and would make an awesome mocktail! I’ll include the mocktail recipe below!

Cocktail Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Gunpowder Gin

  • 3 Cucumber Coins

  • 4 Basil Leaves

  • 1 oz Simple Syrup

  • 1 oz Lime Juice

  • 1 oz Oolong Tea

Method:

  1. In a shaker, lightly muddle cucumber coins and basil in simple syrup.

  2. Add gin, lime juice, and ice and shake for 20 seconds.

  3. Double Strain over a large ice cube in a collins glass.

  4. Float oolong tea over the top.

  5. Garnish with cucumber ribbons!
