Dragons Den

DSC_0379.jpg

One of my favorite pastimes is roaming the isles of the grocery store to see what weird fruits and ingredients I can find. This week I was lucky enough to find a yellow dragon fruit (and an Ugli fruit, but more on that later)! I’m not sure what the difference between a yellow and pink dragon fruit is, because they taste the same to me. Regardless, it makes a very fun garnish!

This reshake features a pisco (the original had Bombay Sapphire) that I found at Leary’s Fine Wines & Spirits in Newburyport MA. If I’m having a hard time finding a specific bottle or brand that I’m looking for, I can count on Leary’s to have it! Plus their staff is so helpful, even if they’ve never heard of what you’re looking for.

Cocktail Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Pisco

  • .75 oz Lemon Juice

  • .75 oz Simple Syrup

  • 2 Tbs Dragon Fruit

  • 1 Sprig of Rosemary

  • 1 Tsp Passion Fruit Pulp

Method:

  1. In a shaker, muddle dragon fruit, passion fruit pulp, and rosemary in simple syrup.

  2. Add lemon juice and Pisco, top with ice, and shake for 20 seconds.

  3. Double strain into a coupe

  4. Garnish with a slice of dragon fruit, half of a passion fruit, and a sprig of rosemary.
