Dear Readers, A Bridgestone Cocktail

Dear Gentle Reader,

The season is upon us, meaning it’s time for an elegant cocktail with a unique spin to come on the scene and steal the hearts of Dukes and Viscounts alike.

With two seasons of Bridgerton under our belts, I can’t wait to see what Lady Whistledown has in store for us next. This Bridgerton themed cocktail features Grape Hyacinth, since Hyacinth is the youngest of the Bridgerton clan, I thought this was a fitting theme for a cocktail to hold us over until the next season.

It also doesn’t hurt that grape hyacinth bares a striking resemblance to a tiny wisteria and can be foraged right from your backyard! Not only can these little flowers be foraged, they also have the same fun PH indicator that Butterfly Pea Tea and Iris’s have that change color based on acidity! I opted not to use any citrus in this martini, but adding it would turn it a vibrant pink color.

Hyacinth Martini 🐝

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of Grape Hyacinth Infused Vodka

  • .75 oz Chareau Aloe Liqueur

  • .5 oz Rose Lillet

  • .25 oz Simple Syrup

  • Rosemary

Notes

Infused Vodka - for this infusion, I picked a handful of grape hyacinth from my yard and popped the little bells off of the stem, about 1/8 of a cup. After adding those to a mason jar, top with 1 cup vodka and let it sit in a cool place until the color has transferred from the flower to the vodka. Strain out the petals and use for delicious cocktails

Instructions - Combine all ingredients except for rosemary into a shaker with ice. Shake for fifteen seconds and strain into a chilled coupe. Express rosemary by slapping it between your hands and garnish with rosemary and Grape Hyacinth. Enjoy!
